Ideal in salads, soups, stews and winter casseroles, Cannellini beans, when cooked, have a fluffy texture and a slightly nutty, mild flavour.

How to Cook

Soak the dried Cannellini beans in lots of cold water for a minimum of 5 hours (allowing for expansion). Drain and rinse, and place in a large pan and cover with 5cm of cold water. Bring to the boil, scooping off any foam, then boil for a further 10 minutes. Scoop the foam off again, then add just a little salt (note, too much salt before they're cooked will harden the skin), and simmer gently with the pan lid half on for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, until tender. Keep an eye on the water level, and add more if necessary.

Fresh Greendale Produce - Meat and seafood will be bagged and ready to cook or freeze on delivery. All fresh meat and fish will be vacuum-packed and labelled with use-by dates and a suggested frozen shelf life. Packaging or labelling may change depending on preparation or delivery limitations. When the meat or fish has been packaged it is immediately placed in an insulated envelopes and surrounded with chilled gel-packs to keep it cool and in perfect condition.
